Hi lisa. I just read take fiancee very droll. I’ve always wanted to be a writer but I’m basically afraid of failure. I write sci-fi/fantasy so its a bit different from your work. Would you recommend using any of the writing community websites? You know the ones where you upload your story and other amateur writers give advice. Or is it better to publish a free short story as an ebook straight off and see how it goes? Or would you recommend taking the traditional route and sending work off to a publisher?

Hi Kirsty! You could do both–post a short story and write another one for critique. Many people have found those sites useful, but you do need to have a thick skin. You could also purse a traditional publishing route at the same time. I’m doing both self-publishing and traditional publishing and it’s working for me. Good luck!

Lisa – If I read “Flirts” or any of the other books with 5 or 15 stories, do I need to buy the separate books or are they exactly the same? What is your first book? I’ve tried to make a list so I can read them all. I just finished reading Flirts and loved it. I like the idea of quick short stories I can read in one sitting. Thanks again.

Hi Shirley! Each Flirts! book has five stories. The volumes were released in this order: Flirts!, Beach Flirts!, Holiday Flirts!, Fairy Tale Flirts!, Wedding Flirts!, More Flirts!, Reunion Flirts! and Fairy Tale Flirts 2! Look for Office Flirts! in late fall 2013.
They don’t have to be read in this order. However, a few characters or references pop up in later books that would be more enjoyable if you read them as released, but they don’t carry over like a series.
I’ve bundled a few of these volumes into box sets to save readers some money. These are the same volumes I’ve listed above, just sold 3 at a time. So glad you’re enjoying them. Thanks! Lisa
